Featuring huge 4 inch beautifully crafted tips, sculpted to fit the curves of the RX8s rear valances, and a twin box muffler system for elegant looks, great sound and weight saving, this full 3 inch system has been carefully engineered to give a slightly more aggressive sound than the Racing Beat catback system, but with none of the in cabin ‘drone’ on cruise, from louder systems such as the Greddy SP2.

Very civilized in cabin, and when cruising, the system really opens up along with your rotary engine.

The Change CRAFTER Services Mazda RX8 outperformed the competition at last weekend’s ( Fri August 26 – Sun August 28 2011) ASN Canada FIA Time-Attack (solo I) National Championships, setting new lap records with its Ancaster-based entry.

Driven by Scott Murfin and headed up by owner Gary Wood, the team broke the GT1 lap record on the Mosport road course with a 1:36.868 posting, and then bettered that record with a 1:35.168, taking the Canadian GT1 Time Attack Championship.

This past weekend NASA hosted their first event of the season at Homestead-Miami Speedway.  Running against a Corvette Z06 and customized roadsters we took first place using the same parts we sell:  Cool Charge III, ICE III & Cool Power Thermal Management kits, Trak Pro Competition Series Coilovers,  Trak Pro Launch kit, etc.

The Pettit RX-7 FD3S was one of only a hand full of entries with zero cooling problems.  Without having to worry about the well being of the motor, this allowed ample time for the Pettit Racing team to dial in the new Trak Pro Competition Coilovers.

In the end the Pettit Racing Trak Pro Suspensions made us the fastest!  Adding the confidence to push further our car limits and take the win.

RX-7 FD big brake will soon be available with floating rotors for both street or racing use.  Long awaited because typical floating rotors can be noisy on the street, but this special design uses a rotor to hat attachment with stainless wear shields between the floater blocks and the hard anodized aluminum eliminating hat wear, then a stainless spring washer holds the assembly to the rotor and prevents annoying low speed rattles which is common with floaters.  The combination of free rotor expansion, huge pads and 6 pistons calipers provide an amazing amount of braking energy, it is just awesome.  We severely punished these brakes lap after lap after lap, so far with every test not a hint of fade and no vibrations, just smooth & consistent braking, easily exceeding our benchmarks.  More grueling testing & updates soon!

August 15 2010 -  Sebring Raceway

The Redline Time Attack Series took to the historic 3.7 mile Sebring Raceway in excruciating 100+ degree temperatures.  These extreme temperatures would typically sideline an RX-7, but with the Cool Charge III, ICE III & Cool Power Thermal Management kits, the Pettit RX-7 FD3S was one of only a hand full of entries with zero cooling problems.  Without having to worry about the well being of the motor, this allowed ample time for the Pettit Racing team to dial in the new Trak Pro Competition Dampers.

In the first session, our RX-7 started out strong and set the lap time to beat!  All the suspension work, testing, tuning and engine preparation had just paid off.  With engine temps staying cool lap after lap, we made a few more shock adjustments and times continued to improve as the battle for the top spot went back & forth until the final lap.

In the end the Pettit Racing Trak Pro Suspension made us the fastest!  Adding the confidence to push the limits further and take the win, the Pettit RX-7 set a new track record and took both Super Modified RWD and Super Modified AWD class victories.
